The Jamaica National Group: a $500M–$1.0B financial conglomerate built on mutuality

On February 1, 2017, The Jamaica National Group became a reality following the conversion of the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) into JN Bank — Jamaica's third-largest commercial bank. The restructuring was driven by Jamaica's new Banking Services Act and received BOJ approval in February 2015.

The group operates through two holding company structures: the JN Financial Group, which owns all regulated financial entities including JN Bank, JN Fund Managers, JN Life Insurance, JN Money Services, JN Small Business Loans, JN Cayman Ltd., and JN General Insurance; and the MCS Group, a non-financial holding company overseeing JN Properties, the Jamaica Automobile Association (JAA), Management Control Systems (MC Systems), The Creative Unit (TCU), and Total Credit Services (TCS).

With an estimated annual revenue of $500M–$1.0B USD and approximately 1,200 employees, JN Group serves retail customers, small businesses, institutional investors, and the Jamaican diaspora globally through remittance, banking, insurance, and digital financial services.
